Pizza For Peru, Building Up Economies One Slice At A Time

LOGAN, UT 2/23/2008 -- What does pizza and a Utah Sate University college student have in common? An appetite, yes, but more importantly a cause to help build the economy in the third world country of Peru. Ten college students at Utah State University will be selling pizza for Peru every Friday until their goal of one thousand dollars is raised. The fund raiser is in cooperation with the Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University.
Jesi Dewey, a student at Utah State and the president of the fundraiser has coordinated the project and plans to see the goal met before the end of the semester. Dewey stated that, "this is a great opportunity to get hands on experience with business as well as lending out a helping hand to those less fortunate."
The money raised will be used as micro loan acounts to provide the most poor of people with opportunities to be trained and educate on business and to help set up businesses. The recipients of the loans will recieve no more than fifty to one hundred dollars, enough to allow Peruvians to be self-sufficiant and build a credit history that will make them eligible for larger loans
Another student involved, Scott Grover went on to explain that the money raised will have a huge impact on the villages in Peru and that, "it will open doors to many people, and give them a chance to better their lives, it makes me feel great and is very rewarding just to know that I am part of something that makes a permanent difference in others lives for years to come."
The fundraiser will take place outside the Taggart Student Center on the Utah State University Campus from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Friday until the goal is met. Papa Johns is sponsoring the fundraiser. Pizza will include two slices and a can of soda for two dollars. For further information contact:

First Comes Happiness, Then Comes Financial Stability

Logan, UT 2/10/2008 -- In the world we live in today it can be easy to get caught up in the rat race of financial freedom and end up in financial bondage. For Preston Parker, founder of the CVAIA (Cache Valley Investors Association), financial independence and happiness are possible for everyone when educated on how to manage money.
The Association, which was started in August of 2007 meets at the Cache Chamber of Commerce on 160 N. Main Street every other Thursday at seven p.m. where members discuss strategies on becoming financially independent and it's importance. Meetings also include special guest speakers and helpful financial tips.
"I believe that people should be financially independent .... how do we know what an amoeba in high school but not know how to balance a checkbook?" Parker said.
Parker went on to explain how important it is to get a job that you enjoy doing, not for the money as much as for the enjoyment and satisfaction of the job you are doing.Parker emphasized that, "money doesn't equate to happiness after a certain level, from that point on money doesn't mean anything anymore."
The association has around 35 members and is continuing to grow, with ten active members, ages range from early twenty's to the late fifty's and welcomes any who would wish to join. For further information contact:

BURGER PLANET KEEPS THE TASTE AND BOOTS THE WASTE

Salt Lake City, UT 2/3/2008 - Worried for both you and your child's health? Well worry no longer since Burger Planet has jumped up to a whole new playing field for quick service restaurants due to its stride in making the planet more heart-healthy. Thanks to Burger Planet's recent addition to the company, Jayne Petersen, Burger Planet has managed to keep the great taste and quality in its products while lowering the cholesterol by an astonishing minimum of 70 percent, making Burger Planet the healthiest quick service restaurant chain out of McDonald's, Burger King, and Wendy's.
The rate of obesity in this nation as well as nations abroad is growing in a rapid rate. This growth rate has been the source of many hardships for kids such as depression, lack of energy, ability to succeed academically and of course future heart problems.
President Muellenbach III, CEO of Burger Planet stated that "it hurts me to see so many kids get trapped in an unhealthy diet, many of these kids have great potential to do great things, making quick service restaurants heart-friendly is a way for kids to continue to enjoy their favorite foods without creating any future barriers."This has been a major part of Burger Planet's plan for the past seven years with experimenting the idea of keeping the taste but losing the waste.
Petersen, who capitalized the idea said, "the idea was there but the company couldn't seem to accomplish the task, and that's where I came in."Peterson then continued by saying, "the atmosphere and attitude of this company along with my knowledge and experience are the result of the successful upgrade in the health of Burger Planet's products."Peterson is a graduate of Utah State University where she majored to be a dietitian where her ideas and skill began to come together, classmates would often come to her for help in place of some of the professors.
"I think she (Petersen) taught me a lot more than I taught her, through her dieting knowledge she helped me lose 45 pounds in three months" said Petersen's former Professor Opal Whitcomb.
Burger Planet has decrease it's fat content by an astounding minimal of 70 percent, the healthiest of the Products is the Solar Burger, the company's largest burger, which has decrease in fat 93 percent, the healthiest fast food burger on the market.
Even the company mascot 'Corny the Clown' seems to being joining the ranks as the company has trimmed a good six inches from his waste line.
Burger Planet has been in the fast-food industry since August 1984 and has been known for its customer satisfaction in service and cleanliness, and now heart-healthy can be added to the list. Burger Planet's motto is "keep doing a little better every day." With that, the future is strong and won't stop its efforts in making fast food a better choice. For more information, contact:
