Ryan,
To describe what public relations is and what the profession writes about in just one sentence is a very tricky task due to everything that it entails. The job of a public relations professional is to send the right message to a demographic about a event, product, project, or idea that has been implemented by the firm or company that employs public relations professional. In other words it is the public relations job to get the ball rolling for the company in which he or she is working for. One of the ways this is done is through press releases, this is what public relation professionals write about for the media to hear and is enticed to publish it in a positive way through television, newspapers, magazines, radio, and so forth. There is much more to it, but if I had to fit it all in a nutshell then I would doing it by the latter. Hopefully this has helped give a more clear understanding of the public relations profession.

Scott,
Good job I thought that you did a good job at explaining what the terminology is and means. Parabens
Good job. It was simple and short, but effectively defined the term and talked about public relations writing.
You very simply summed up what PR is. Simple and effective.
